6 Days/6 Nights

Day 1 – Arrival

Arrive at the Addis Ababa Bole International airport. Be met and welcomed by Dinknesh Ethiopia Tour representative and transferred to your hotel.

O/N – Ghion Hotel

 

Day 2 – Addis

Full day city tour of Addis to visit the Africa Hall, the National Museum of Addis Ababa, St. George Cathedral, and the Menelik Mausoleum. O/N – Ghion Hotel

 

Day 3 – Addis – Lalibela

After early breakfast, fly to Lalibela – home of the incredibly hand carved 12^th Century rock churches of King Lalibela. In the afternoon, visit the first group of these churches. These churches are Ethiopia’s top tourist spot and are unofficially known as the Eighth Wonder of the World. O/N – Roha

 

Day 4 – Lalibela

In the morning, make a mule back ride to the hill top semi monolithic church of Asheton Mariam (13^th Century AD). The peak of the hill offers a wonderful viewpoint to have a bird eye view of the surrounding area including the town of Lalibela. And in the afternoon, visit the second and the third group of churches of Lalibela. O/N - Roha Hotel

 

Day 5 – Lalibela – Addis

Fly back to Addis and visit Merkato – the largest open air market in Africa. O/N – Ghion Hotel

 

Day 6 – Addis – Shashemene

Drive 250 km south of Addis to the Rift Valley region with a stop at Lake Ziway to spot various species of birds including the Marabou Stork, Hammer Cop, Little Egret, African Fish Eagle, etc… At Shashemene, visit the Rastafarian museum, and the school founded by the Rastafarian Community.  O/N – Lily of the Valley Hotel

 

Day 7 – Shashemene – Addis

Drive back to Addis, and visit the Ethnological Museum where the former palace of Emperor Haile Sillassie I is found. And, also drive on the main streets to visit the various historical monuments and squares. In the evening, you will be guest of DINKNESH ETHIOPIA TOUR at one of the best traditional restaurants of Addis to see the folkloric dances of the Ethiopian people and to taste the variety of meals of the Ethiopian people.
